What does Being sponsored Mean by a Supplement Co?

I really want to write and tell you about athlete sponsorship.  What does it mean when youre sponsored by a company, wether its supplements, clothing brands or salons?  What should you expect?  What should the company expect from you?  Are you getting paid?  Or are you just being used.....
Im going to talk from an athlete's point of view.  When you are an elite athlete, supplementation is a way of life.  There isnt a time of the year were you dont take BCAA's, Multivitamins, Fish Oils, Glutamine just to name a few.  This gets very costly as supplements arent cheap.  Especially the ones that are Pharmaceutical Grade and work.  Every athlete works hard for their PRO Card, and were always training hard, marketing ourselves and reading up on new formulas or trying new diets out to see what works best for us. Were always trying new supplements also, cos each time research proves one protein is better than the other.

When Supplement companies can see an athlete has a great physique, do well in competitions, markets themselves professionally, has the ability to be able to sell their product to the market and help along the way is when they get noticed.  And could be offered SPONSORSHIP.

Sponsorship is when a company takes you on board with their team, as an athlete and get ALL YOUR PRODUCTS FOR FREE.  No discounts, No half prices, No money at all.  You market yourself with their Company and in return promote their products to the target market.  That way you have a champion with a professional support team and its win win both ways.  You will be the face for the brand and its in your favour to hold on to your sponsorship by working hard and proving that product is the best on the market.  Advertising on your website, FB, My space, Twitter, organising stalls at expos, signing photos at the store, sharing your tips and opinions on products, etc etc.  The list goes on.  So much can happen when 2 heads are working together.

When somebody says to you they will sponsor you next time, ask them, what the deal is before you sign up cos if you get caught in a contract, it could take you to court.

Ive had a few experiences with supplement companies and their sponsorships and the good news I announced on my FB wall was about this............. ;)

All my clients will be looked after and would be happy to meet all of you in the store for any advice you need on Supplements.
Just remember, YOU shouldnt pay a PENNY when youre SPONSORED, and if you do pay, your just a customer with a discount, not a SPONSORED ATHLETE ;)

6 weeks out !!!

Getting closer each week and changes all over.  My diet this week consists of:


  • Baked Eggs
  • Egg whites with Avocado
  • Fish and Avocado
  • 2 meals of Fish and Brocoli
  • Egg whites with Cinnamon & Splenda (have to have a bit of sweetness to stay sain :P)
Every morning I wake up and take my supplements needed on an empty stomach before I go for my walk in the city of Nicosia.  All days except for today as I felt I needed Sunday off.  My body is begging for a rest.  You ,must always listen to your body.
I train weights 6 days a week although Im not happy with the energy of the gym Ive been training these last 2 months Im moving to a new gym a little further from my home, but if its got the energy to train then Im happy to drive 10 mins further.
I also do a second cardio session before my last meal for the 5 days.  Depending how I feel I go for 40-60 mins.  Its additional cardio, I put the girls to bed and then I go off.  It feels good to be able to do that additional extra little bit when you could have been sitting at home watching tv sipping on a frappe or a heinekan.  I rather burn calories! :)
I will continue this plan for this week and will reassess if I need to change things up next week if I havent made the losses I want.
Lets hope I get my routine sorted this week aswell as my bikini sent to me.  Such a hassle living on an island that doesnt offer these services and having to wait for International postage etc.  Even though I wouldnt change Jo for anybody.  For all you comp prep, www.styleonstage.com.au is the place you should be looking at.
I have seen amazing changes in my body this week, although it has left me very tired today, I cant even drive to go the beach or pool with the kids.  Im actually really drained.  I will be spending this time with the family and go for my cardio later on this evening.  I really need to rest.
My supplements have all changed, I will no longer be taking any of the previous supplements I have been posting.  I will do a full blog on my supplements at the moment later on today when the girls have a nap :)

I CAN SEE MY ABSSSS!!!

Back from my Summer break and Im sooking it wasnt long enough... ;(
Trained twice a day, and diet was on track.  I here people complaining that they gain weight during their holidays... You try contest preperation away on vacation... Packed tupperware and a room near the closest gym! You wont gain another kilo in your life!
Im tweaking my diet a little stricter, actually alot stricker now as were 6 weeks out and half way there were we started from since I made that lovely mistake of 3 weeks.  Still cant get over that...
Ive lost 7 kgs and still have a little more to bring in that tight package better than last year.  I can see so much change in my body now that the fat is coming off!
As I get leaner I stay stronger and it motivates me!!  The best part is seeing your abs... That feeling of accomplishment pays it all off...
I know you're waiting for pics but Im really hard on myself and I dont post until the final shot!  It really gets me depressed when I see myself in a shape that Im not happy to sit at....believe me, I let myself go, really go and Im working so hard now to prove to myself I can do it.. Ive done it before and Im doing it again...
My energy levels at the moment are pretty shit... Im getting over the gym I usually train at and I think its time for a change... Changes are always good remember....
Ive dropped half my fat intake also and added greens instead so that explains my energy level...
Fats are more dense and more calories and incase I miss a 3rd session there isnt any damage done... But when I feel picky I go for a few almonds...
This is just a quick update and I will be trying to update more regularly now that were getting close.
Ive ordered my tanning products, bikini, shoes and bits and pieces so Im waiting for it all to arrive... Ive booked for my makeup to be done, having extensions put in so its a really good feeling preparing for a figure show!
Lets just hope it all arrives here In Cyprus... I usually have to chase it all up to be on time.... The joy of living on a small island that gets forgotten to be put on the map! :P
